Vocations
A vocation is — a call from God
to love Him, and to serve Him
You have a vocation
You have an unique calling from our loving God to enter into a deeper relationship with Him, and to use your gifts and talents to give Him Glory, and to benefit your brothers and sisters.
All of us have a distinct call to make God known and loved in many different ways.
For many people, this call is lived out in the married or single state, being engaged in family and professional life, however for others that call is lived out in the service of God and His Church, through consecrated live as a religious or Ordained ministry.
Discerning that call is a means of exploring a loving relationship with a loving God, and to live personal freedom to its fullest extent. If you feel you may have a vocation to the consecrated life, or to Ordained Ministry as a Priest or Permanent Deacon, please feel welcome to contact the Vocations Director for the Diocese—Fr. Phillip Harries, who will be pleased to assist you as you make your journey of discernment, to discover what God is calling you to, and how you might benefit from prayerfully responding to that call.
