Fund-raising in the Aberystwyth area

euenctid Cymru i Lourdes

Bob blwyddyn, mae nifer o bobl ifanc rhwng 16 a 25 oed yn mynd i Lourdes gyda mudiad "Ieuenctid Cymru i Lourdes" (Welsh Youth to Lourdes) i weithio'n wirfoddol i helpu cleifion a phobl anabl sydd ar bererindod yno o Gymru.

Mae'r mwyafrif yn gatholigion - ac mae 'r mudiad yn gweithredu oddi fewn i'r Eglwys Gatholig ac yn croesawu hefyd pobl ifanc nad ydynt yn gatholigion.

Ym mis Gorffennaf 2007, aeth grŵp o bedwar o wirfoddolwyr o blwyf Aberystwyth i Lourdes i weithio yno am wythnos fel rhan o garfan Ieuenctid Cymru i Lourdes. Nhw oedd y grŵp cyntaf o Ogledd Ceredigion i wneud hynny.

Gweithion nhw yn ddyfal drwy'r flwyddyn i godi arian cyn mynd er mwyn cwrdd â'u costau i gyd.

Mae'r nifer o bobl sydd eisiau mynd o ardal Aberystwyth yn 2008 wedi cynyddu - ac mae'r grŵp wrthi yn
trefnu gweithgareddau i godi arian unwaith eto.

Bydd pob cyfraniad yn helpu talu eu costau, ac mae'r grŵp yn ddiolchgar iawn am bob cefnogaeth.

Mae Clwb 100 hefyd wedi cael ei sefydlu er mwyn codi arian tuag at eu costau (aelodaeth yn £10 - cewch ofyn am fanylion).

Mae Noson Gerdd yn cael ei threfnu ar Nos Lun, Chwefror 4, 2008 yn
Y Morlan, Aberystwyth. Dewch i fwynhau noson o adloniant gan nifer o gerddorion a chantorion dawnus - o Gymru ac o bedwar ban byd - sydd yn byw yn lleol. Manylion ar gael yn fuan yn y Flwyddyn Newydd.

Welsh Youth To Lourdes

Every year, a number of young people between 16 and 25 years of age go to Lourdes with the Welsh Youth To Lourdes movement in order to work voluntarily to help sick and disabled people who are on pilgrimage there from Wales.

The majority are catholics - and the movement operates within the Catholic Church and also welcomes young people who are not catholics.

In July 2007, a group of four volunteers from the parish of Aberystwyth went to Lourdes with the Welsh Youth To Lourdes contingent to work there for a week. They were the first group from North Ceredigion to do so.

They worked diligently throughout the year to raise funds to meet all their costs.

The number of young people who wish to go from the Aberystwyth area in 2008 has increased - and the group is once again active in organizing fund-raising events.

All contributions will help to pay their costs, and the group is very grateful for all support.

A 100 Club has also been set up in order raise money towards their costs (membership £10 - please ask for details).

A Music Evening (see photographs below) was arranged for Monday evening, February 4, 2008 in Y Morlan, Aberystwyth, an evening of entertainment by a number of talented musicians and singers - from Wales and worldwide - who live locally.
