On Sunday 1st July the final meeting before this year's pilgrimage, of the ‘Menevia Welsh Youth to Lourdes', took place at Stella Maris Convent in Swansea. The pilgrimage itself was due to take place between 24th and 31st July and final information, and meeting up with everyone again just before travelling, was very important. Some guests were invited along to share the afternoon with us; these were some of the VIP's travelling to Lourdes with us and staying within the hospital setting. We all enjoyed meeting up with them and having a lovely tea. It was great as some of the youth had travelled quite a way to attend this meeting and I would like to thank them all for undertaking the journey. They came from Aberystwyth, Brecon, Haverfordwest, Carmarthen, Cardigan, Swansea, Port Talbot and one had travelled from Newport that day. Thanks to you all! As this was our final meeting I would also like to thank our two Chaplains, Fr Ross & Sr Carmel for their spiritual guidance and lovely input throughout the year. ‘Reconciliation' is the Lourdes Theme this year and our short service looked at ‘Walking together in the footsteps of Jesus' - and we were invited to write a prayer or word onto paper feet and lay them in front of the altar. Our great thanks are also extended to the Sisters at Stella Maris who always make us very welcome and go out of their way to help in whatever way they can. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Finally, we wish offer our great appreciation to those who help us so much during the year, but unfortunately are not able to travel with us any longer, Barbara, Alan, Mair for their wonderful support, work and generosity of heart. Also to Ann, and Anne & Irvin, who are travelling with us this year, for their great help & support. Our Youth Co-ordinators, Claire & Hannah, Team Leaders, John-James & Emma, together with all the rest of the Menevia Youth, will keep the Diocese in their thoughts and prayers while at the Grotto at Massabeille and all look forward to 2008 which will be the 150th Anniversary Year of the Apparitions of Our Lady to St Bernadette.
